What is a cozy mystery?
(Or Cosy for non US English) Often referred to as "cozies", they are a subgenre of crime fiction in which sex and violence are downplayed or treated humorously, and the crime and detection take place in a small, socially intimate community. The story is suspenseful, but not too scary; mysterious, but not exactly murder-filled. Perfect to read on vacation without freaking yourself out — even if you’re staying at a cabin in the woods.
